Descriptions
This ointment contains a synthetic vitamin D 3 derivative for topical dermatological use.
How To Use
Cleanse thoroughly, apply a thin layer on the affected areas, rubbing in gently until completely absorbed. Use as directed and wash hands after each application. This medication is for external use only, avoid contact with face and eyes.
Consult your docotr about the use of this medication in children.
Side Effects
Side effects observed with animal studies show that if taken in high dosages orally it can cause problems to the mother and the fetus, including birth defects.
Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to this formulation or any other medication in any other form.
If you have any known calcium metabolism disorders please inform your health care professional about the same.
Overdose
Rapid reversible elevation of serum calcium has occurred with excessive use (above 100mg/week) of this Ointment, which if discontinued normal calcium levels are restored.
Notes
It may cause irritation of lesions, discontinue use of the ointment if this occurs and consult your prescriber.
Do not bandage the affected areas, after ointment application.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
Missed Dose
Do not double dose to make up for the missed application.
Uses
This ointment is used in the treatment of plaque psoriasis.
Consult your doctor about the usage of this ointment in children.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 15—25 degrees C (59—77 degrees F), do not refrigerate.
Precaution
Weekly ointment dosage should not exceed 100mg, and in other available forms the total dose should not exceed 5mg per week, consult your presciber for more information.
